I get asked a lot of questions but my favorite is, “Are you hungry?”  Well of course I’m hungry, you don’t get my size from not being hungry.  This next question is the one that starts the argument, “Where do you want to go eat?”.  Is that a hard question?  No it’s not, but it’s always hard to answer when you don’t know what you want.  I spend a lot of time arguing with friends and family about where we’re going and after about an hour, I finally give in to their suggestions, why?  It just makes life easier.  There’s not one restaurant that I’m always “dying” to go to and I always like a little variety.  Tom is one that gets the same food every time he eats at a particular restaurant, but I’m always wanting to try different things.  “Why do you have to be so difficult”, you ask?  Because I’m not boring.  I’m sure you’ll agree with me, right?

I will say that the cheeseburger, fries and BBQ sandwich I had at Zoo-A-Palooza was awesome, or maybe I was just hungry.  Anyhoo, the food was good and so was the concert with Mat Kearney.  Everything went great, except for the hurricane that blew thru, but it didn’t stop our wonderful listeners from having fun.  Have you checked out the pics and video from Zoo-A-Palooza?  Just CLICK HERE and take a look at the fun you missed.

Jackie was in the studio with me today, and I was explaining to her (Miss Fitness) why I haven’t ran since Friday… here’s why: (you ever come up with these excuses?)

Well, not quite. But I made this super easy and yummy lunch today, and I’m very proud of myself!

I have the Whole Foods recipes app, and I typed in what I have – pitas, veggies, hummus… and it gave me a recipe for these veggie-stuffed pitas!  I literally made this at my desk (aka the studio), it’s THAT easy.

Just cut a pita in half, spread hummus in it, then stuff it with whatever veggies you like! I used lettuce, carrots, broccoli, and asparagus.  Soooo yummy! 

Also, notice how there’s no Mountain Dew there?? Granted there’s a giant coffee and the day is young, but still! Yay!

A major thing happened this weekend!  The other day I was having a rough day, and one of my friends asked if I wanted to go running with him to relieve stress.  Well when he goes running, he runs 3 miles like it’s no biggie.  I stop every 3/4 of a mile in search of water and a recliner.

I was running a few months ago, but then I stopped and just forgot to start again! SO we made a bet – in exactly one month, he’s asking me to go running again.  If I can do it withOUT stopping or walking, he’s watching “The Strangers” with me (trust me, this is awesome).  If I DO stop or walk, I’m buying him lunch (at the same damn restaurant we AAAAAALWAYS go to… ugh).

I need help!! How do I get ready to run 3 miles in just a month?? I REALLY want to prove him wrong!  Give me pointers on facebook or twitter.  I’ll keep you updated on my progress throughout the month…  Here’s day 1 (Sorry for the bad video, but at least Zoe’s cute):

I had a brilliant epiphany yesterday!  I was suffering ALL WEEKEND from mind-numbing cramps, so I was cranky and locked in my house for two days.  Well yesterday I snapped at one of my guy friends (okay, TWO of my guy friends… sorry about that!), and one who shall remain nameless (*ahem*Derrick*ahem*) said, “Are you expecting a… visit soon?”  My response:

I’m on day 2 actually, and if you had these cramps you’d understand!!!!!!

So this is when I had the epiphany:
We should start kicking guys in the nads every month. Once a month, around the same time, we put on our heaviest shoes and get them right in the junk.  After some time, they’ll know it’s coming and THEY’LL be cranky too a day or two before! (And probably a day or two after as well.) Never again will they laugh at our crankiness and say “That time of the month?”

Last night I thought it’d be fun to paint my nails green.  Right now I can’t remember why.  Ugh.  Doesn’t it look like my nails are moldy or something?!  Ignore the horrible paint job I did.
