If you listen to me on the air, you know I’m all about trying to be healthy and living better.  After losing 35lbs about a year ago and doing my best to keep it off- I’ve become pretty vocal about healthy living.  Here’s something that might help you out with your resolution this year.  Found this online…

It was a great weekend. My daughter,Lauren’s, oldest was 3 yesterday!! Krew got to see Elmo and Friends at Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium. He had a blast! So did his sister Kaiden. Watching them, all wide-eyed, and smiling, little faces glowing with an innocence and joy, just about broke my heart. With love.
It’s those simple things that can bring so much pleasure to our lives. If…we take the time to notice, and appreciate them.
My “little girl” has a little girl of her own now. Where did the time go? Why didnt I take the time to truely appreciate those simple pleasures?
Stress, worries and wrong priorities all got in the way.
I hope you will just take a moment and appreciate those simple pleasures…of a child’s joy, a friend’s company or a loved-ones smile.
Take the timne to do it while you stillcan.
Happy Holidays. Merry Christmas..
with luv,
heidi
ps. special thanks to friends Johnathon Pitts, josh and staff at Spg.Mem.Auditorium. for helping me to enjoy those simple pleasures.

I was shopping the other night and as I walked down the frozen breakfast foods section of my store, something seemed wrong.  It is very rare that you see EMPTY SPACE in a grocery store and even more rare that you see empty space in the refrigerated or frozen sections of a grocery store.  But that is what I spied out of the corner of my eye.

It was a huge open gap in the frozen foods section of my grocery store.  I looked closer and saw that it was Eggos waffles that were missing from the shelf – and there was a note!

Breaking News!  There is an Eggo Waffles shortage in the United States! I did some research and found this story on what was going on with the Eggos.  It appears that a combination of bacteria being found in some Eggo waffles, and recent flooding in Atlanta has exposed a weak link in the food supply system here in the United States.  Who knew that just a couple of plants being shut down could result in a NATIONAL EGGO WAFFLE SHORTAGE.  Oh the humanity.

Ok, that’s all – you can resume eating breakfast now.  Just no Eggos this morning.

Some blog readers have been asking for more pictures of my son Isaiah.   Some have also asked that I back off posting pics of my toned and bronzed chest.  Sorry America.   I’ve let you down.16139_337169420555_507985555_9856090_3299017_n

If you were stranded on an island, which other B93.7 jock would you want with you?

It’s hard to say.  I thought of Tom because he would be smart enough to figure a way off the island.  I thought of Hawk, because he would make me laugh enough to forget we were on an island.  Then I thought of Heidi and since we would be the only man and woman on the island, we could get married and have kids.  I’m still undecided.

You are at the doctor’s office and she has just informed you that you have approximately one month to live.  What would you do?
Quit my job and run up my credit cards.

What is your happiest childhood memory?
I don’t remember

What is the first thing you notice in the opposite sex?
Eyes then teeth and I would hope she has both

What is your quirkiest habit and how long have you had it?
There are too many to name.  I’m OCD, remember?  If I had to choose one, it would be that all my food in my pantry has to be facing forward and neatly organized.

What is on your bedside table?
Clock, lamp, cordless phone (yes they still make them) and the remote to my fan.

Do you still have tonsils?
Oh yeah, little buggers are still there.

If you could take a one month trip anywhere and money was not a consideration, where would you go?
I would spend one week in Jamaica, one week in Venice, one week in Amsterdam and then head back to Jamaica.

What do you do in your free time?
Eat, watch a lot of TV, eat and maybe have a beer after a long day and on weekends.

Have you won any random awards?  What were they?
I won the neatest award in 8th grade.  I should have known then that I needed therapy.

Talked about this on the air.  Here’s a quick video of the lights in front of my house.  We stop traffic in Simpsonville.  I’ll work on getting a better video soon.

Wow – It was only in my wildest dreams that I could imagine ever GIVING AWAY – a QUARTER OF A MILLION DOLLARS!! Thats just what we did today!

As a Co-founder of the Beach Ball Foundation, I knew we were creating a fun way to raise money for childrens charities, but, I didnt realize just how impactful this volunteer-driven organization would be!
25 area non-profit organizations were presented with the funds raised thru the Beach Ball and BBF events held throughout the year.
We started by holding the Beach Ball in the backyard of a friends house. We outgrew that space and moved the party to a bigger backyard – a really BIG backyard…The Beach Ball entertains nearly 2000 people on the last Saturday in August.
I wll have details for you here or go to www.beachballfoundation.org
Much of that site is under construction but you can still get an idea of what we are about.
The Foundation has grown into an annual campaign of giving and,so,today we gave away $252,381.72 to 25 charities!
Over 20 great restaurants, hundreds of volunteers, generous sponsors (like Benefits in a Card and North American Rescue, Lauren’s Electric Co-Op, Mauldin High among others) and lots of businesses support our cause. Like Entercom Communications and B93.7FM!
It’s so great to know that, together,we are, “Changing the Lives of Children Through Education and the Arts”. Thanks to everyone who gives so generously and cares about kids and our community.
