Oh my Gaw! I really think I had it! All the symptoms and like a flake I went to work!  I am still feeling under the weather and probably would have been fully recovered by now if I had stayed home for a couple of days.  That’s why I’m writing about this…stay home if you feel bad. Not just so you get better faster, but, so that you don’t spread it around..Then, of course, if you have co-workers like mine,  Hawk,Tom and Kato, then, maybe you dont mind getting them sick!!Have a great weekend…See you at the Ken-Ducky Derby at Falls Park Greenville on Saturday 2-4!!! love,heidi

We asked this question on the show today.  On Friday, I got a very sore throat and thought that I was getting a cold.  On Saturday I got some headaches, but the cold symptoms got better.  Sunday they came back and have steadily gotten worse.  My mother-in-law said it was the swine flu and that I needed to get to the doctor.  I laughed and said, “They don’t have the swine flu in South Carolina!”  The next day they said, “Looks like swine flu in Newberry, South Carolina.”

So, what could I do to find out if I had the swine flu?  Well a listener from BMW sent in this handy chart and it looks like I just have a cold – how about you?

Do you have the swine flu?

I bought my 2 year old daughter a fishing pole!  I now have a fishing buddy!  I got a feeling that she may not be ready to bait her own hook yet…..

Ok, I am a skeptic when it comes to epidemics and pandemics and Bird Flu, etc… but this map makes it very clear what is happening.  People who have been to Mexico recently have come back with Swine Flu.  Look at the map, click on the cases and the vast majority of the cases are students who went to Mexico for Spring Break.  If that is you and you have a cold, allergies or the flu – go to your doctor.  Do not go to school.  Do not go to a party.  Do not go to a concert.  Stay at home or go to the doctor and don’t spread this stuff.  Really!  Get well.  Get over your Swine Flu and then you can go out again.

Of course, as I write this I have a cold.  I think it is a cold.  I’m not real sure how to tell, but I don’t THINK it is the flu.  At least I haven’t been to Mexico recently, but you have to wonder if you have been in contact with someone who has… this is frustrating.

Here is a real-time google map of Swine Flu cases…

Hi Friends, I love the Springtime! I just planted 4 container gardens, mostly cilantro and tomato with green and yellow peppers. That way I can make my own fresh salsa. I also planted some mint. And one container for just strawberrys. We’ll see how green my thumb is, or isn’t. I had a garden at my other home and actually grew those things in the ground…I have never tried container gardening before.  I’ll let you know how its going. Have any tips on container vege combinations, just let me know.I am MC  for a Fashion Show coming up at the Brown Street Club, May 13th. 8:30pm. The models will be a few of my friends who are currently in representing cities across SC .  Miss SC contestants will be models! There is a charge, unless you make a diner reservation, then the fashion show is free. I will MC another Fashion Show at Salon Beverly on the Parkway in Greenville, on May 21. 6p.  It’s free.  Hope to see you out and about now that the weather is warming up. xoxo—–heidi
