Had a full weekend of moving apartments which is always glorious. I was having some pest problems in my old place, so I moved to another. Same complex, just diff pad. Much thanks to Dex and Merkle for helping me out Saturday. And even Dino made an appearance on Sunday to help fluff my couch pillows. Not much but it’s the thought that counts…

Blog reader and B93.7 superfan Carly (the girl who sent me Kevin Jonas’ facial hair), called my show today and said that she thought our night guy Just Joe and I were brothers.  After I cried into my Toaster Strudel, I realized that it wasn’t impossible.  I mean, stranger things have happened…..look at some childhood pics of Just Joe and I.  I’m the cute one that could  have played soccer in Europe if not for falling down the stairs during the taping of my dad’s tool show….or something like that.

Who’s got two thumbs and totally predicted six months ago that “John Adams” would sweep the Emmys? Thiiiiiisssss Guyyyyyyyyyyy! I’m pointing to myself right now with my two thumbs.

“John Adams” was nominated for 23 Emmys!! It’s a good thing that “Just Shoot Me” has been off the air for awhile…that would have been some stiff competition…..btw, “John Adams” won 13 Emmys last night. Congrats, even though I saw this coming a mile away.  Even the cast knew they’d win a lot. Check out some of the screen shots from the show.

I’m not a big fan of all the award shows.  It’s just another chance for celebrities to remind us all that they rule and we have to eat Ramen noodles while they’ve never heard of such a thing.  So needless to say, I didn’t watch the Emmys last night.  I heard Kathy Griffin won…..that defies all logic and mathematics.  Surely she’s going to put her Emmy right next to her register at Target. 

Enough of my Kathy Griffin tirade….watch the amazingly talented Josh Groban do a montage of TV theme shows….he’s at his best at 2:37.

Not only is Dwayne “Don’t Call Me the Rock” Johnson one of the worst actors ever, but he could crush my head like a grape.  That’s why I’m posting as Just Joe on this one….it’ll be days before Dwayne figures out he has the wrong man. 

Disney has tabbed Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to star in an upcoming film based on Tomorrowland, a future-themed wing of the Magic Kingdom.

I have an idea for the first ride…your move Disney.

I hate going to the dentist for my checkups.  Being a “legal adult”, whatever that means, I don’t expect to be second guessed.  Except by my wife….I’m pretty sure she doesn’t believe anything that I say.  It could be because I told her I was being deployed to Afghanistan the day we were supposed to attend her grandparents 50th anniversary party.  I expect being questioned by my wife….but my dentist? Mr. DDS….whatever that stands for, always gives me a look after I tell him I floss all the time.  It’s a good thing he doesn’t read my blog….

LEGOs are an American toy legend.  I grew up in Minnesota, so I visited the Mall of America a lot….their Camp Snoopy playland has a huge LEGO world area that would make me cry when we had to leave.  My parents decided that it was a little weird that I still did that at 17.  Anyway, LEGOS aren’t selling lately, so the powers that be thought up a surefire money maker: celebrity LEGOS. This guy is what’s known as an “Internet celebrity”….whatever that means….I’m guessing he’s not going to be invited to the Grammys and given a high priced tote bag.  Anyway, his name is Matt and one day on vacation, his friend told him to do his special dance in front of the camera.  The whole thing blew up on YouTube, and last year he did another video where he goes to 42 countries in 14 months and does the same dance.  All joking aside, this video made me realize that people, no matter where they’re from, can dance and laugh….mostly at the uncoordinated American guy.

One of my favorite movies from my childhood is “Heavyweights” w/Ben Stiller and a bunch of fat kids….I wish I would have tried out for the movie….that would have been the peak of my chubby little career. 

Someone had the genius idea to start a ”kid’s only” gym….but it’s really for the “husky” kids.  Here are some pics.

 I really wish there was something like this when I was a kid…all I had to workout with were my dad’s truck tires….although it did build up my triceps.  That’s important for a 10 year old.
